Stonehouse energy efficient Bungalow

SIPs Wales were employed to supply and install the frame for an energy efficient bungalow for Newydd housing association. Working through main contractor Kingfisher Development (Wales) Ltd and designed by Zenergy design the bungalow has an envelope first method of insulation by using our 215mm thick SIPs panels for both walls and roofs. The project had the challenge of being built in the countryside just outside Cardiff where our normal delivery vehicles couldn’t reach. All material had to be delivered to a local builders merchant and decanted onto smaller lorries for the final delivery to site. One on site we had limited storage area due to the footprint of the Bungalow on the plot which meant we could just turn the telehandler around on site! This entailed ensuring the right materials were delivered on each load to site to maintain progress. As a company we are always up for a challenge. The project was also erected during the wet month of February 2020 where we had 2 main storms hit the UK with heavy rain which suits the speed of the SIPs framing
